I paint
to explore, to experiment, to be challenged & to have fun.
To experience the play of paint on canvas & paper,
To give in to the mystery of the moment,
To capture a point in time,
To weave a fantasy with shapes.

Living in one of the world’s beauty spots on the St Lawrence River is a piece of good fortune for an artist. I putter with paint to explore the “being-ness” of things. I find my subject matter in my surroundings - in my gardens, household artifacts, the river, painting trips abroad. Firmly believing that variety is the spice of artistic endeavour, I like to alternate the representational, such as still life, landscapes, florals in oils or watercolour, with the non-objective, using collage, paint, and found objects. I go wherever the spirit takes me.
